Understanding VAWA evaluations
VAWA evaluations are available for survivors of domestic violence who need clinical documentation of the psychological effects of abuse.
Psychological effects of abuse
Sendero may document trauma-related symptoms, emotional distress, safety concerns, relationship dynamics, and the long-term impact of abuse on well-being and daily functioning.
The evaluation may address physical, sexual, verbal, emotional, psychological, financial, or coercive patterns of abuse when they are relevant to the client's mental health presentation.
A supportive clinical setting
Each evaluation is approached with care, cultural responsiveness, and attention to the client's pace while maintaining objective clinical boundaries.
Sendero recognizes that survivors may experience shame, fear, confusion, isolation, or difficulty trusting others. The interview is structured to be respectful and clinically focused.
What the report may include
Trauma symptoms and daily life
The report may document symptoms such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, sleep disturbance, difficulty concentrating, emotional numbing, panic, or changes in parenting and relationships.
It may also describe how abuse has affected the client's sense of safety, independence, support systems, and ability to function.
Objective documentation
Sendero prepares clinical documentation for attorney-led VAWA matters and does not provide legal advice or determine whether a client qualifies for relief.
The goal is to communicate the mental health impact of abuse clearly, compassionately, and professionally.
